UNUSUAL DISEASES

                      UNUSUAL DISEASES

Despite extensive research no treatment modality is effective for both fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndromes.

The fibromyalgia patients have some common symptoms including generalized body pain, fatigue, digestive issues, chest pains, brain fog and chronic pain is ubiquitous in fibromyalgia patients although some patients don't experience it.see also;fibromyalgia symptoms and signs

One of the patient who suffers from fibromyalgia says that drugs help him to curb most of his pain. Exercise also help him to stay active.

Exercise may improve patients’ symptoms and quality of life, but an exercise program may be challenging because of pain, stiffness, and fatigue. Lifestyle physical activity involves accumulating self-selected, moderate-intensity activity over the course of the day; this may be easier to sustain over time. There is evidence for the short-term effectiveness of aerobic exercise for treatment but not for strengthening exercise. Flexibility training, yoga, and tai chi have gained increasing interest as adjunctive treatments. Patients need to develop a tolerance for the exertion associated with physical activity if it is to be effective and sustainable.

Brain fog symptom makes it hard for the patients to remember to take their drugs as Mabel Peralta one of the patients explains.

Chronic Fatigue syndrome(CFS) has got some similar symptoms to those of Fibromyalgia such as fatigue, sleep problems and brain fog.

Other symptoms are muscle and joint pain, severe headaches some people have tender lymph nodes in neck/armpits, frequent sore throats, chills and night sweats, allergic sensitivities or digestive problems.

The main symptom of CFS is feeling extremely tired. Like in Fibromyalgia symptoms vary from one patient to another and the severity vary from day to day. Unlike in Fibromyalgia where patients feel better after doing exercise Patients of CFS aren't advices to do exercise because it makes the matters worse.

Patients of CFS have problems with moving around and may need to rest often. Although there's no criteria for diagnosing CFS doctors are advised to review patients personal and family medical history, conduct a thorough physical and mental status exam and order blood and urine or other tests in order to arrive at an accurate diagnosis.
